Why Not TK?

This time of year, we always get lots of questions about TK and Kindergarten Readiness, and I just wanted to share with you a great study that really makes me feel good about what we’re providing to the children at Mixed Greens!  As a CA Early Childhood Mentor Teacher, I am involved in book studies for teacher training.  We just wrapped up a fabulous book called The Sky Above and the Mud Below, by David Sobel, regarding aligning nature-based curriculum with current academic standards.  In the appendix, studies were cited about the impacts of Play-Based Preschool on School Performance, and I thought you might like to read some highlights, so I attached them here.  (Please forgive the lesser quality images of the book pages).
