We, at Mixed Greens, have so much to be thankful for this year, with all of the wonderful people who have come into our life and chosen to begin their children’s life journeys with us. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of your family and to have you join ours as well! Thank You.
Though we are currently far from the office (and hope that you are too 🙂 ), we wanted to make sure that you still got the update of last week’s pictures…holiday heavy, with lots of gift creating and jingle bell rocking! Enjoy the fun we were having, by checking out our pix here!
We’re so excited to see our buds again and welcome our new friends and families next year, when we re-open on Monday, January 3! Please, new students, be sure to remember to bring in any remaining enrollment forms. And please, all families, remember to periodically check our website Calendar page for any schedule and event updates.
In the interest of spreading the Green Goodness, I’ve attached a list of easy New Year’s Resolutions for eco-groovy living from Treehugger.com We aim to assist in your green growth at Mixed Greens in many ways…just a few that this list touched on: We cut back on paper towel use by supplying all students with their own cloth hand towels and by asking that diaper wearers bring their own changing pads (which we are happy to use under cloth diapers :)); We offer Organic / Fair Trade coffees, teas, and cocoas for sale to raise funds for our Teacher Retention & Education Fund; We will soon be offering Nutritional Consultant / Parent Education seminars that will focus on healthy eating and local CSA participation, among other topics (stay tuned for event details). Of course, as we aim to instill environmental responsibility within our future Earth holders, we are always open to “greening up” in as many ways as possible, so let us know if you have any ideas to share!
We hope that you are all have enjoying a safe and peaceful holiday, and that next year is your best one yet! The future at Mixed Greens is certainly looking bright, and we’re so glad to share that with you. So looking forward to seeing you all in 2011!
